Ok, here's one that I lifted from my other blog site. Now, since I do not move within Numan fan circles these days the relevance of Ist Ist to this site is purely based on my own opinion on the music. I can't say that they are industrial (but they do come from Manchester!), but their sound is brooding with a combination of guitar, bass and keyboards.
When I last saw them at Esquires in Bedford I did notice fans in the queue sporting Depeche Mode and Editors T-Shirts. I am not very familiar with the music of The Editors, but a quick shuffle through a couple of tracks I can say that there is a resemblance to Ist Ist and in turn I believe that The Editors cite Numan as an influence. It is all rather tenuous I know, so no pressure, try it if you want. I think that they are great.
Here's another one from my flavour of the month, or more accurately, the year, Ist Ist. This recording sees the band playing once again in Germany, the Luxor Club in Cologne, on the European leg of their 'Light A Bigger Fire' tour. I'm looking forward to seeing them again before too long. Many thanks to Peter for the share. Cheers!
